On the Crystal City located on the planet Christophsis, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are battling the dreaded Separatist machine military comprised of battle droids. Jedi Master Yoda sends Ahsoka Tano, a padawan, to give critical news to Obi-Wan and Anakin that they are both to comeback to the Jedi Temple with great haste. Tano, Obi-Wan and Anakin meet. The two Jedi of Obi-Wan and Anakin think Tano will be a new apprentice for Obi-Wan, but they are wrong because Tano is going to be the padawan of Anakin, who has just become a full fledged Jedi Knight.
Next, the three Jedi have to battle the war machines. They are broken into two groups for the purpose of the battle. Anakin and Tano join forces to attack the shield generator of the battle droids. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan and Captain Rex with his clone army battle General Whorm Loathsom, who is an exotic species, armed with huge spider droids. With the fight seeming lost, Obi-Wan surrenders to Whorm with deceit of not really giving up. With great daring genius, Obi-Wan ends up capturing Whorm while Anakin and Tano take out the shield generator.
Heading back to their star ship, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Tano are greeted by Yoda himself. Yoda tells the good guys that Jabba the Hutt's son named Rotta has been taken prisoner by nefarious adversaries opposed to the Old Republic and Jedi Order. The Old Republic is motivated to help find Rotta because the Old Republic would like to enlist the Hutts as an ally. Anakin and Tano head for the world called Teth as part of the plan to find Rotta. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan goes to Tatooine to meet with Jabba.
At Tatooine, Obi-Wan has a conversation with Jabba, which is interpreted by TC 70, who is a protocol droid. Jabba tells Obi-Wan that Jabba wants Rotta safely returned with the wrongdoers either dead or alive. Over on Teth, Anakin and Tano are in their star ship heading to an ancient Hutt headquarters and must land their star ship after being attacked. Anakin and Tano learn the Separatist machine military is behind the attack on their star ship.
The Hutt headquarters sits above the ground on extremely steep cliffs. The clones, AT TE's, Anakin and Tano move up the cliffs vertically. A gigantic battle takes place between our heroes and the machines. The heroes win the battle and are wondering why there were Separatists forces at the Hutt headquarters. Anakin and Tano are led to the Hutt dungeons by a droid, who tells the two Jedi they will find a Hutt in this nightmarish place.
Asajj Ventress is hiding in the dungeons. Asajj is a Sith apprentice of Lord Tyranus. Asajj tells Tyranus everything is going as they had planned. The two Jedi are in the dungeon and both Anakin and Tano sense they are entering a trap. Anakin and Tano manage to find Rotta. Unfortunately, Rotta is not well and needs medical care or else will perish.
Meanwhile on Tatooine, Count Dooku is revealing some holographic footage of Anakin and Tano placing a small Hutt into a container. Dooku makes it appear that these two Jedi are the ones who captured Rotta. Dooku wants the Hutts to join the Separatist war effort against the Old Republic in exchange for the Separatists saving Rotta from the Jedi. Elsewhere, Anakin gets in touch with Obi-Wan with a holographic message. The two Jedi unravel Dooku's diabolical plan to frame the Jedi for the capture of Rotta. They decide the way to foil Dooku's scheme is to take Rotta back safely to Jabba.
While trying to get away, Vulture droids decimate Anakin's star ship. An attack from battle droids requires Anakin, Tano, Rotta and R2-D2 to re-enter the Hutt headquarters to find an alternate means of escape. Anakin and company find their way to a primary Hutt area and R2-D2 plugs into a computer terminal and they are connected to Captain Rex. By means of the Force, Anakin senses this is not the real Rex. Instead they are being deceived by Asajj Ventress. Anakin and company attempt to escape. However, they are trapped by Asajj.
Anakin and Asajj say mean words to each other. It looks as though a fierce light saber battle between Anakin and Asajj is going to erupt. Instead R2-D2 initiates a trap door that sends them falling under the floor. Next, Anakin and Asajj ignite their light sabers. Asajj has two light sabers, but quickly makes them into a single double bladed light saber. A fight ensues between Anakin and Asajj. With Asajj distracted, Tano tries to get away with Rotta. Tano ends up in front of a Rancor monster.
The Rancor attacks and the heroes are scattered. Anakin and Asajj continue their battle sometimes on top of the Rancor's back. Meanwhile, Tano has to deflect blaster fire coming from battle droids above their position. Light saber blows kill the Rancor. It falls on top of Asajj. The battle ends with Rotta vomiting.
The two Jedi find R2-D2 and they make their way to a take off point, but a Vulture droid destroys a star ship, which could have taken them all to safety. The Vulture droid then attacks the two Jedi, but Anakin and Tano win in battle against the Vulture droid. Obi-Wan has now arrived in a star destroyer above the planet. Captain Rex is in the middle of battle while Anakin and Tano try to help. The good guys are forced to retreat. Rotta shows the heroes a mountain where a star ship Twilight is located. With much excitement, Anakin jumps from the cliff and is seen again riding on a massive flying insect creature.
Asajj uses her light saber to cut through a door to attack the heroes again. However, the area becomes unstable ready to fall so Asajj must retreat. Tano with Rotta holds onto Anakin as they fly towards the star ship on the airborne insect. Obi-Wan sends clones to the rescue and they land at the Hutt headquarters.
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan's troops attack and defeat the Vulture droids and then Obi-Wan's clones land at the Hutt headquarters. At the same time, Anakin and Tano have to fight battle droids in order to reach the Twilight. Meanwhile the army of Captain Rex is being beaten by the machine military, but Obi-Wan's clones arrive in time to save them all. Asajj sends a holographic message to Count Dooku. Asajj is told to take Rotta to Jabba in order to convince the Hutts to join the Separatist's war against the Old Republic. At this time, Obi-Wan enters the Hutt headquarters and a light saber battle breaks out.
Anakin, Tano, R2-D2 and Rotta have made it safely to the Twilight. Anakin and Tano want to help Obi-Wan. However, they decide to leave the area with Rotta in order to protect the young Hutt. Obi-Wan's star destroyer is under attack by Vulture droids. The clones on the star destroyer view the Twilight as an adversary. Anakin and Tano clamor to tell the star destroyer that they are Jedi. The Twilight enters hyperspace. Within the inner sanctum at the Hutt headquarters, Obi-Wan and Asajj clash violently with their light sabers. Asajj finally jumps on top of a Vulture droid and escapes from Obi-Wan. Again Asajj sends a holographic message to Dooku and Jabba. Asajj claims that Rotta is deceased and that Anakin and Tano are flying to Tatooine. Jabba is outraged. Dooku tells Jabba that Dooku will take care of Anakin.
As Anakin and Tano make it to Tatooine, they are attacked by Separatist fighters. A space battle takes place. R2-D2 helps destroy many of the Separatist star ships. However, the Twilight is damaged to the point where they have to land in the desert. Anakin and company are going to walk to Jabba's Palace. Back at Coruscant, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine with Yoda see Obi-Wan as a hologram. They exchange exposition dialogue. Padme enters the room and says she will try to find an uncle of Jabba called Ziro, who lives on Coruscant. Padme hopes Ziro can convince Jabba that the Jedi and the Old Republic are working to help the Hutts.
While on Coruscant, Padme attempts to convince Ziro the Hutt that the Jedi are in the middle of rescuing Rotta. Ziro doesn’t give her much respect and has her taken away, but Padme manages to get back in to hear Ziro speaking with Count Dooku. Ziro’s guards catch Padme eavesdropping on Ziro and then take Padme to the dungeon. Across the galaxy on Tatooine, Anakin and Tano are walking across the desert heading for Jabba’s Palace. The two Jedi sense the dark side and decide to form two separate teams with Tano with Rotta and Anakin by himself.
Meanwhile on Coruscant as Padme is taken down inside the dungeon, Padme drops her communications device and is able to get a secret message to C-3PO. Back on Tatooine, Anakin is alone walking through the desert. Out of nowhere, Count Dooku rides up on a swoop bike. Dooku attacks Anakin. Some distance away from Anakin's position, Tano, Rotta and R2-D2 are close to Jabba’s Palace, but they are attacked by more Magna Guards.
A bone chilling light saber fight erupts between Dooku and Anakin. During the battle, Dooku shows Anakin a holographic image of Tano in a bad situation of danger. Anakin takes Dooku’s swoop bike in order to rescue Tano. Things are dire for Padme on Coruscant. Padme is brought before Ziro to be executed. Suddenly, a group of clone troops led by Commander Fox burst into the area and save Padme and take Ziro as their captive. Meanwhile on Tatooine, R2-D2 is battling a Magna Guard while R2-D2 helps Tano protect Rotta. Suddenly, Anakin arrives on the swoop bike and heads for Jabba’s Palace.
Anakin disarms himself by giving his light saber to droid TC 70. Anakin is taken before Jabba and Anakin is surprised Tano, R2-D2 and Rotta haven’t already arrived. Desperate to save his life, Anakin utilizes Force grab to get his light saber back and eventually has the light saber up against Jabba’s throat. Anakin and Jabba get into a verbal fight. Tano shows up with Rotta. Jabba is elated to see Rotta, but decides to execute the Jedi. Next, Anakin and Tano have to battle Jabba’s guards.
Ziro can be seen in a holographic image as he is Padme’s prisoner. Ziro reveals he was behind the capture of Rotta. Jabba is angered, but Padme uses this situation to achieve an agreement between the Old Republic and Hutts to work together. After the dealing is finished, Anakin and Padme have a private talk through the holographic projectors. Meanwhile Count Dooku is trying to escape Tatooine while having a holographic conversation with Darth Sidious, the Sith Master. Finally, clone gun ships arrive at Jabba’s Palace, which means Anakin, Tano, R2-D2 and Obi-Wan are brought back together victorious over their adversaries. They leave on the clone gun ships headed for even greater future adventures.
